TLC for color treated hair

Give your blond or brunette color treated hair some TLC (tender, love and care). Having to color your hair every three weeks is tiring, besides, the shade changes as days go by. Blond hair becomes dull and brown hair starts showing reddish strands.

Here are a few tips to take care of your color:

  1. Use a special shampoo for colored hair; their ingredients are gentler than the ones in regular shampoos.
  2. Try not to wash your hair every day, the ideal scenario is doing it every other day. Color will stay longer. Also, use tepid water, never extra hot.
  3. If you´ll spend time under the sun, use a mask to protect your hair before leaving the house; a hat is also a good idea.
  4. Extreme heat damages the hair and its color. If you can´t avoid using a blow drier, apply a heat protection product.
  5. Chlorine and salt are very bad for your hair. Before going to the sea or the pool, use a mask and don´t rinse it.
  6. Do not wash your hair for two days after you colored it. This will prevent the color from fading and it will set properly on your hair.
